The difference between IPL and SHR technology.

Advantages of SHR technology:

With SHR technology, the hair removal methodology that includes hair pigment uses only 50 percent of the energy to permanently remove hair. The remaining 50 percent is absorbed into the stem cells responsible for producing hair through the skin during treatment with SHR technology.

With SHR technology, single high-energy pulses are not needed. The skin is massaged six to ten times using low energy, but at a high frequency. The procedure is referred to as the so-called “in-Motion” methodology, as the handle is moved over the treated area in gliding motions. (In contrast, IPL technology is called “stamp technology.”)

With SHR technology, the skin is gently heated by melanin and stem cells using low energy (48 degrees), but at a high frequency. In this way, even lighter and finer hair can be treated and removed permanently in a better way. With IPL technology, the skin is heated to 70 degrees.

Treatment with SHR technology is fast, highly effective and almost painless.

The conclusion is this: Each area of the body is sensitive to pain differently, depending on the degree of hairiness and one’s own sensitivity.

How many treatments are needed?

If the hair is in the anagen, or active growth phase, during treatment, it can only be destroyed, as is the case with IPL technology. However, four to eight treatments are sufficient to ensure permanent hair removal.

Special feature of SHR technology: tanned skin can also be treated.
All skin types from I to V.

IPL hair removal technology:

Using IPL technology, the emitted light is absorbed and converted to heat by the hair’s pigment, melanin. This process only works if the hair is dark. Light hair removal is not very effective with the IPL method.
Unlike the laser method, the IPL treatment uses a spectrum of light wavelengths. The light pulses penetrate the skin layer and are transported to the hair root by the hair’s melanin. Melanin converts light energy into heat, which cauterizes the hair root. The scuterized hair root can no longer produce hair. The IPL method is very effective in the growth phase. Depending on which part of the body is hairy, active hair roots account for 20-40%. During the dormant period, hair roots are transparent because they have no melanin. They are not destroyed by flash.
Therefore, it is necessary to wait until they are back in the active growth phase to have an effective effect. Therefore, it takes several treatments to permanently remove all the hair.

Depending on which part of the body is being treated, it takes several treatments, which should be performed at intervals of 1 to 2 months, to permanently remove each hair root.

The number of treatments therefore depends on the density of hair growth and the growth phase of the body area in question.

To protect the eyes, protective goggles are worn during the procedure. The IPL handle is then pressed lightly against the body area in question and the flash-light is triggered. During the flash of the treatment light, a slight sting is felt.

Advantages of the IPL method

  • fast, effective and permanent hair removal
  • no more shaving, waxing or epilating
  • Always smooth skin without troublesome stubble
  • On all parts of the body: armpits, face, bikini area,
  • Genital area, legs, etc.
  • optimal skin protection
  • cheap and long-lasting hair removal

Conventional method of permanent hair removal with IPL

With the classic permanent hair removal procedure, energy is released using single pulses of possibly high energy density, transient signals of possibly high energy density. The wart absorbs all the energy, in a short time it is to be heated to 70 degrees and destroyed. However, since the skin also contains melanin, it also absorbs this energy, which is not actually desirable. Therefore, this method of treatment is often considered painful and unpleasant. Besides, there is always the danger of unwanted side effects.

Advantages of the SHR method

  • Is almost painless as a hair removal method
  • works with all types of hair
  • also works for tanned skin
  • is a method of permanent hair removal
